Continental Tyres have introduced a new Sensor Ready tyre, designed to simplify and streamline digital tyre monitoring for truck and agricultural tyres. The Sensor Ready tyre comes with a sensor pocket and is soon to be offered across the full Continental tyre portfolio. Tyres with this technology will have a “Sensor Ready” marking on the sidewall for easy identification.
What Is the Sensor Pocket?
The Sensor Pocket is a built-in component of the tyre, formed directly during the curing process. Designed to securely hold Continental’s digital tyre sensor, it eliminates the need for adhesives or added components on the tyre’s inner liner.
By integrating the pocket directly into the tyre structure, Continental removes installation steps with claims of improved consistency and long-term durability.
Digital tyre monitoring claims to deliver longer tyre life. By maintaining proper tyre pressure, fleets can reduce fuel consumption, extend tyre life, and significantly decrease tyre-related roadside incidents, lowering the need for costly and disruptive emergency service calls.
To make digital monitoring accessible to fleets of all sizes, Continental also offers ContiConnect Lite, a mobile app that enables smaller fleets to benefit from tyre monitoring technology with a simple, plug-and-play solution directly from a smartphone.
