UK Agricultural new tractor registrations remain weak

There is still little sign of an upturn in the number of agricultural tractors being registered in the UK, according to the latest report from the Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA). Their latest report showed the August total of just 402 machines barely half the level typically seen at this time of year.

August is always a fairly quiet month, according to AEA, with farmers occupied by fieldwork and the new registration mark coming in September. However, this year’s figure was also 19% lower than in the same month of 2024. That is a broadly similar rate of decline to that seen over the year to date, meaning nearly 1,200 fewer tractors have been registered so far this year than 12 months ago. The annual total reached 6,151 machines, 16% below the number registered in January to August 2024.

Month:           402 Units       -18.8% change (compared with August 2024)

Year to Date: 6,151 Units   -16.0% change (compared with January-August 2024)
