With the new PROFI 5000, Pöttinger is entering a new era of rotor loader wagons. The PROFI 5000 is claimed to be the easiest-to-pull model in its class at the Austrian-based agricultural machinery specialist.
Its controlled pendulum pick-up claims to protect the soil, reduce dirt contamination, and minimize tine wear. With a 2.1 m intake width, the pick-up claims to cleanly gathers the crop even under difficult conditions, transfers it to the double-tine rotor, and guides it through the 31-knife short-chop header (theoretical cutting length 45 mm). At only 4 mm thick, the knives claim to enable smooth, efficient harvesting with approximately ten percent less power required for cutting performance compared to 5 mm thick knives. For comfortable operation, the 31-knife header comes standard with the EASY MOVE cutterbar swing-out system with central knife release. Thanks to the large, movable compaction flap on the rigid front wall, Pöttinger claims that the forage wagon can be optimally loaded.
The PROFI 5000’s standard automatic loading system claims to ensure a consistent force during loading, resulting in an evenly filled forage wagon, thus enhancing operator comfort and high transport capacity. A sensor on the front gate measures the pressure generated by the incoming forage. Another sensor, located on the compaction flap, measures the flap’s movement.
Unloading is done by means of a continuously variable motor in combination with the automatic unloading system. This controls the back wall, the scraper floor, and in the DB models also the metering rollers. To protect the valuable resource of soil, the PROFI 5000 uses the large tyre dimension of 710/35R22.5 (on the 13 ton chassis).
Pöttinger has developed the large-volume Dry Forage models PROFI DF with optional roof profiles specifically for the transport of dry goods such as hay, straw and alfalfa with low specific density. The PROFI 5000 from Pöttinger is the ideal entry into the rotor class of loader wagons and a multi-talent for any harvested crop.
