Next-generation Massey Ferguson Compact tractors with robust performance

Massey Ferguson has updated to its popular compact tractor line-up, including the addition of distinctive neo-retro styling first seen on the award-winning MF 8S series high horsepower agricultural models.

Following last spring’s launch of new and updated entry-level MF 1M.20 and MF 1M.25 compact tractors, two additional MF 1M.35 and MF 1M.40 tractors now complete the MF 1M series line-up. Three larger MF 2M models also join the range, while all the new tractors display the latest MF family styling plus updated model numbering and refreshed cabs and controls designed for an even better operating experience. Further compact tractor range updates include MF 1E and MF 2E series models, sharing the MF 1M and MF 2M series design. However, these come with fewer features, providing a budget-focused alternative for less demanding applications, smaller farms and grounds care, while continuing to offer the dependable performance customers expect from the Massey Ferguson brand.

MF 1M series

The completed MF 1M series comprises four models. These include the recently launched MF 1M.20 (20hp) with an open operator platform and ROPS, plus a mechanical gearbox, and the MF 1M.25 (25hp) with hydrostatic transmission and a choice of an open operator platform and ROPS or a quiet, air-conditioned cab. The new MF 1M.35 (35hp) replaces the previous MF 1735 M, and the MF 1M.40 (40hp) replaces the MF 1740 M. Both come with hydrostatic transmission and a choice of a ROPS platform or cab. The three larger models come with 540rpm and 750rpm (540 eco) PTO drive as standard, with electro-hydraulic control plus activation by an external fender-mounted switch adding convenience for stationary applications. Hydraulic oil supply up to 41.5 litres/min is standard.

MF 1E compact series

Available as an open-platform ROPS version, the MF 1E.40 (40hp) replaces the MF 1740 E and comes with an eight-speed mechanical transmission. The standard specification includes 1,000kg rear lift capacity, 540rpm PTO output with electro-hydraulic activation and selectable soft-start mode as well as external PTO control through a fender-mounted switch. Also equipped with a 28.3 litres/min hydraulic system, it easily meets the needs of intensive horticultural, orchard and vineyard applications.

MF 2E series

The MF 2E.55 (54hp) replaces the MF 1755 E. The transmission is a 12-speed mechanical unit providing great flexibility, and the standard specification includes 1,200kg rear linkage lift capacity and a 32 litres/min hydraulic system, ensuring capability for a wide variety of tasks in all types of operating environments. The MF 2E.55 comes with an open platform and a folding ROPS frame.

MF 2M series

A choice of three MF 2M series models includes the MF 2M.50 (49hp), replacing the previous MF 1750 M, the MF 2M.55 (54hp) which succeeds the MF 1755 M, and the MF 2M.65 (65hp) is the replacement for the MF 1765 M. All come with four-cylinder engines and selectable 4wd as standard.

Both the MF 2M.50 and MF 2M.55 models feature a quiet, air-conditioned cab as standard, while those buying the range-topping MF 2M.65 can choose between cab or open platform ROPS versions. For maximum versatility and ease of use, the  MF 2M.50 comes with a hydrostatic transmission as standard. The MF 2M.55 has a flexible and efficient 12 x 12 power shuttle mechanical gearbox, while the MF 2M.65 can be specified with either system to meet specific requirements. Standard, 1,580kg rear linkage capacity and up to 48.1 litres/min of hydraulic oil flow ensure high productivity and allow operation with complex, modern implements.

Practical upgrades

The MF Compact series combines modern design with robust performance and is perfect for yard tasks, field work on smaller farms, equine centres, municipalities and the leisure industry as well as for estate management and grounds care. For users working where access is restricted, in confined spaces and in low buildings, these tractors deliver adaptability and comfort with low running and ownership costs. All the latest models provide an enhanced operator environment. As well as new external styling there is a revised dashboard design, with an improved layout and clearer displays. Upgraded hydraulic controls with distinctive, colour-coded labelling ensure ease of operation.

The steering wheel design is upgraded too, including the latest MF logo, and bringing it into line with larger agricultural and flagship models in the Massey Ferguson tractor range.
