Toyota Ireland has revealed the new Aygo X Hybrid. The Aygo X compact crossover introduces full hybrid technology to its segment for the first time. The Aygo X Hybrid is expected to land on Irish roads in 2026.
Designed and produced in Europe the Toyota Aygo X is a unique and stylish crossover in the A-segment. With the arrival of the Aygo X Hybrid, Toyota Ireland completes its shift to a fully electrified passenger car range, reinforcing its commitment to carbon reductions and sustainable mobility.
Toyota’s latest hybrid technology means the new Aygo X Hybrid has more power and sharper acceleration for a more engaging, and more efficient driving experience.
The Aygo X Hybrid also boasts an 18% carbon footprint reduction over the entire vehicle life cycle compared to its predecessor, thanks to its efficient powertrain and improvements in production and logistics. The benefits of full hybrid make the new Aygo X include class-leading CO2 emissions of 86 g CO2/km resulting in a low VRT.
The overall system power output is increased by 44bhp compared to the previous non-hybrid version, reaching a maximum of 116bhp and giving the Aygo X Hybrid the agility desired for dynamic driving, with zero to 100 km/h acceleration in under 10 seconds.
The Aygo X Hybrid is now quieter and smoother to drive for all passengers thanks to new noise damping components. Dash silencers, bonnet insulation and engine underbody cover combined with an updated exhaust system and silencer to create a peaceful journey. On higher grades, an even more serene drive comes via other noise reduction measures, including thicker window glass and additional sound proofing throughout the body.
The new Aygo X Hybrid also benefits from comprehensive safety and driver assistance package, as a result of Toyota Safety Sense technology. This includes enhanced Pre-Collision System, Lane Trace Assist and Road Sign Assist features, as well as new Emergency Driving Stop System and Proactive Driving Assist. For the first time on an Aygo X, Toyota Safety Sense benefits from over the air updates to ensure the latest protection.
Aygo buyers looking to make the move to electrified driving will be able to avail of Toyota’s Hybrid Battery Extended Care Programme with the Aygo X Hybrid. The programme was carefully developed to provide hybrid drivers with reassuring protection in the unlikely event of the hybrid battery failing. It offers a 15 year or unlimited mileage warranty once the car is serviced with a Toyota Dealership.
The Aygo X’s impulsive, “ready to go” attitude is updated for the latest version with a stylish all-new front design that displays an advanced, high-tech approach whilst emphasising its compact SUV identity.
A new hood, new headlamps and new front grille create a stronger stance that is enhanced by 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels, depending on the grade, and black flared wheel arches.
The optional bi-tone colour scheme boldly adds to the car’s dynamic presence, with black extending from the roof across the rear and down to the side sills with a host of exterior colour options. An exclusive canvas roof style, is also introduced as an option on higher grades.
The new Aygo X Hybrid maximises interior space with a high driving position. Four passengers can sit in comfort, and there is a larger luggage, thanks to the 231-litre boot capacity.
A new 7-inch digital combi-meter and heater control panel create a more sophisticated, modern look, while an electronic parking brake comes as standard on all grades, as do two USB-C charging ports. A new wireless smartphone charger, a digital key, powered folding mirrors, and nanoeX™ technology for improved air quality are also available on higher grades.
