Volvo Car Ireland has announced the pricing for the ES90, its latest all-electric offering. Starting at €82,100, the introductory Volvo ES90 Single Motor Extended Range claims to offer the refined elegance of a sedan, the adaptability of a fastback, and the spacious interior and higher ground clearance associated with SUVs.
Volvo claims that this car does not compromise on comfort or space, allowing for bigger adventures, striking the perfect balance between professional and private life. The car’s slightly raised ride height provides the driver with a more commanding view of the road. The flowing roofline balances looks with interior space and claims to contribute to excellent aerodynamics, boosting overall efficiency and electric range.
The ES90 is designed to evolve over time and is powered by next-generation core computers that represent an eightfold improvement over the previous generation. It is the first Volvo car with 800V technology, for a longer range and faster charging than any electric Volvo before. Volvo claims that the ES90 can add 300 kilometres of range in just 10 minutes at 350 kW fast charging stations and offers a driving range of up to 700 kilometres under the WLTP testing cycle.
This new car is available with a choice of three equipment grades: Core, Plus and Ultra. Volvo claims that the equipment specification across the board is rich in features to provide the highest levels of safety, comfort, infotainment and performance.
At the entry point to the range, the Core versions are equipped as standard with four-zone climate control, heated front & rear seats, and a heated steering wheel. The seats are upholstered in Nordico (a progressive material created from textiles made from recyclables such as PET bottles and bio-attributed material from forests in Sweden and Finland).
The Plus versions build on the Core specification with the introduction of heads-up display, a 360° camera, the Bose Premium Sound system and interior illumination with the back-lit wood decor gives the interior a unique character during the day as well as when it gets dark.
At the top of the range, the Ultra versions maximise the ES90 luxurious profile. Details include an electrochromic panoramic roof, tinted rear windows, ventilated front seats, active air suspension and the top-of-the-line Bowers & Wilkins sound system with 25 separate high-fidelity speakers throughout the cabin, including headrest and ceiling speakers.
The Volvo ES90 Single Motor Extended Range retail pricing starts at €82,100 for the Core trim level and increases to €102,400 for the Ultra specification models.
