The Dutch start-up GriTech is now offering its retrofittable joystick steering system in Germany and across Europe. The system can be used in agricultural, and construction machinery and complements the existing steering wheel, which remains usable.
Steering is achieved via lateral movements of a joystick, making frequent steering maneuvers more ergonomic. An adjustable armrest with an integrated joystick replaces the left armrest, and the steering wheel is supplemented by a steering motor.
The joystick complements the steering wheel, which you can still use. Our system provides a significant ergonomic improvement for tasks that require frequent steering movements. Many steering movements put strain on your body, especially your shoulders and back. The GriTech joystick system is very simple: you move the joystick left or right. This is claimed to allow the operator to sit in a better posture, keeps your back straight, and relieves pressure on your shoulders.
According to the manufacturer, a TÜV type approval certificate allows for registration in the vehicle documents. Sales are handled through the GriTech online shop; dealer inquiries are also welcome. They have some authorized dealers would be happy to do the installation.
