The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Martin Heydon TD has announced a new Innovative Forest Technology Scheme: Module 1 –Central Tyre Inflation for applications.
The objective of the Innovative Forest Technology Scheme: Module 1 – Central Tyre Inflation scheme is to encourage operators of specialised heavy commercial vehicles, used mainly for the transport of roundwood timber, to adopt Central Tyre Inflation (CTI) technology. These systems allow the vehicle operator to select the most suitable tyre pressure for the particular vehicle operation and/or driving surface from the cab, while the vehicle is in motion. When the vehicle increases speed on a good quality road, the system will automatically increase the tyre pressure to the required level.
The CTI module will provide grant aid to a total of four projects, at a maximum of €20,000 per project, per annum for timber transport operators to acquire and fit CTI systems on heavy commercial vehicles involved in the transport of roundwood timber in Ireland.
Full details on the scheme, including how to apply, can be found in the Specification Document which is available to view on the Department Website at gov.ie – Innovative Forest Technology Scheme – Module 1: Central Tyre Inflation Applications may be emailed to Approvals.ForestService@agriculture.gov.ie
